QMS Technician I

As a QMS Technician I, you'll play an essential role in ensuring our high standards for biological pest control products are met across every stage of production. What You’ll Do
You’ll work alongside experienced scientists and quality professionals to support QA and QC functions in our Insectary and Production operations. Under supervision, you’ll contribute to the execution of quality assessments and research experiments while building foundational knowledge of our systems and standards.
Core Responsibilities
Assist with QA and QC processes under direct supervision.
Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Help conduct quality assessments throughout production stages.
Support root cause investigations for quality issues using available tools and guidance.
Perform day-to-day testing and evaluations such as insect bioassays, pH, viscosity, and specific gravity.
Maintain accurate records of experimental results and assessments.
Document, tabulate, and interpret simple data sets for reports and team meetings.
Assist in research to improve insect rearing and baculovirus production processes.
Operate lab equipment, prepare materials, and conduct both routine and non-routine procedures.
Participate in peer discussions, team meetings, and troubleshooting efforts.
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
Coordinate logistics across departments to ensure effective QA/QC coverage.
Provide hands-on training to new team members (e.g., QMS Assistants) as needed.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (e.g., minimum of 1 year of work experience in lieu of a degree).
Experience:
0–1 years of lab or technical work experience required
1+ year of lab experience preferred
Some experience working with insects or lab equipment is a plus
Skills & Traits
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording
Ability to follow instructions and standard procedures
Good verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to ask questions, seek feedback, and work collaboratively
Interest in continuous learning and process improvement
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and comfort learning new systems
Curiosity about production, insect biology, and biological products
Physical & Visual Requirements
Fine motor skills for handling instruments and pipetting
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
Visual focus for microscopes, screens, and detailed tasks
